Reintroduction of Bull Trout to the Clackamas Sub-basin
Bull trout were widely distributed across the Willamette Basin including the Clackamas River but were extirpated from the Clackamas River subbasin with no documented sightings since the early 60s. The bull trout is listed as threatened by the US Fish & Wildlife Service under the Endangered Species Act.
Beginning almost seven years ago planning for the reintroduction of bull trout to the Clackamas River subbasin began. Partners in this initiative include the US Fish & Wildlife Service, ODFW, US Forest Service, National Marine Fisheries Service, Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs, and PGE.
